Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious. Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious is the third album by British extreme metal band Carcass. It was released on October 30, 1991 through Earache Records. This album is the first to feature guitarist Michael Amott. Many of the tracks describe economical ways to dispose of dead bodies.

Limited quantity LP issued with 4 picture postcards of each band member. Comes with a lyric insert. Correct spelling of the track B1 title is "Incarnate Solvent Abuse".

Carcass' third album Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious saw the band begin to move further away from the blur of full-tilt grindcore to a more technical & somewhat melodic metal that wouldn’t yet polarize their fanbase the way their next effort Heartwork would do. However, the continued use of dense medical terminology in the group’s lyrics left even the top professors of biology running to their library in hopes of gaining an understanding of the themes of mutilation and cannibalism the band so vividly outlined, using only the most obscure words assumed to have been part of th. .

Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious is the third album by the British extreme metal band Carcass, released in 1991 through Earache Records. Ken Owen and Jeff Walker said during The Pathologist's Report Part III: Mass Infection that they rejected the descriptions of Carcass' music on this album being grindcore

descanting the Insalubrious (1992, Earache). the carcass lineup for this album: Jeff Walker-vocals/bass Bill Steer-guitar/vocals Michael Amott-guitar Ken Owens-drums  . On their third effort, the last of the carcass goregrind cd's, Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious, they extended even further with thier goregrind, this time even touching on some what was to be melodic death. they were one of the first to open most songs with a sample or some sort of ear candy. This was and still is their most progressive and complex release, due some of the part to the addition of guitarist Michael Amott. This gave Steer a lot more to work with, with soloing and layered guitar work

Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious (1992) by Carcass. Labels: Earache Records. Genres: Death Metal Members: Jeff Walker, Bill Steer, Michael Amott, Ken Owen.

Released in a 12-panel digipak.

- First 5000 copies of the release feature "Death Scene Cards", which are the black & white photos of the band on the cover of the album.
- Recorded at Amazon Studios, Simonswood. Remastered at Mine Music.
