Now it’s happening with Make Do and Mend. I used to hate the harsh, manly vocals that I hadn’t really heard before I listened to these guys, but it has definitely grown on me since. Bringing dynamic drums, clever lyrics, and catchy vocal melodies to the table, there isn’t much to not like about Make Do and Mend’s latest LP, End Measured Mile. Save for two weak beats throughout the CD, the drums are the glue that holds this record together
Make Do and Mend are a pretty dynamic bunch, not in the sense that they change time signatures in a dizzying fashion or alter their sound dramatically from song to song, but in the sense that its damn near impossible to avoid shouting along with them. Let’s face it, End Measure Mile is a raging foray into your typical anthemic pop-punk, and while its songs rarely deviate from the verse-chorus format it still manages to keep fans guessing. This is a fist in the air record and it doesn’t pretend to be anything else. Highlighted by some terrific guitar-work, the revelation here is a handful of truly catchy shout-out-loud choruses.
Album End Measured Mile. Transparent Seas Lyrics. I don’t know who you are, and it’s too hard To keep pretending that you’re more Than the mark of an old scar That doesn’t hurt anymore And I’ve grown numb of the fear That everything I’ve done Was being controlled by the father, by the son By the holy ghost you’ve become. But I would fold my hands and buckle to my knees And I would pray the sky would fall down on me And I would stumble to the shore to be baptized in the waves If it meant that everything we know doesn’t go away, someday. And I know my mother cries When she realizes I don’t love. Transparent Seas" Track Info. End Measured Mile Make Do And Mend.
