This is the second part of the Study Series 7” collection, again released on heavy vinyl with a quality sleeve & artwork. I’ve always liked Jon Brooks work with Ghost Box, Mind How You Go was a great release from The Advisory Circle; the two tracks on this new release are no exception. The first track New Dimensions In… is instant music from long ago when synthesisers were found in sound laboratories being operated by white coated BBC technicians. Brooks has a sound that fits well with other artists on Ghost Box, a real time capsule. The second track begins with an analog preset drum machine and shimmering keyboards. The introduction of a vocal is a bit alien to my experience of The Advisory Circle, but this is collaboration with Hong Kong In The 60s who I guess have added their own part to this track – all in all though it all works well and the sound fits well with the project.
